Suffolk Legislature - Dr. Rebecca Lonardo (District 17)

Incumbent Democrat Thomas Donnelly (District 17) has been another do-nothing non-entity giving Steve Bellone a "pass" to disburse political patronage and make Suffolk County the worst - most "fiscally stressed" - county in New York. Donnelly's biggest self-proclaimed "accomplishment" was to ban plastic straws in Suffolk - accomplishing almost nothing for our environment, but hurting medical patients - like stroke victims - who need plastic straws to be able to eat and drink. On the big issues - like the county's fiscal insolvency crisis - Donnelly has been AWOL, or worse, complicit in the Bellone administration's corruption and mismanagement. Huntington veterinarian Dr. Rebecca Lonardo brings a breath of fresh air and eagerness to tackle the real problems facing the county. She is a local mom, with young children in elementary school.
