Barnes & Noble was expecting to celebrate its long-anticipated Grand Opening of its new Bookstore on Route 110 in in Huntington Station on March 20th.
But the Grand Opening was postponed to April 2nd - or later - due to “unexpected permit issues” with the Town of Huntington.
The new Barnes & Noble store will replace the Barnes & Noble bookstore on Jericho Turnpike in East Northport that was closed last year.
This new Bookstore will be located at a space which was formerly occupied by Johnson Fitness & Wellness across from the Walt Whitman Mall and the Huntington Shopping Center on Walt Whitman Road - Route 110.
The new bookstore will contain two parking lots. The first one is directly on Route 110, which holds about ten to 15 cars, and the second lot will be located right behind the store and will be the store’s main lot.
The Store’s Grand Opening will feature a ribbon cutting ceremony and will have as the featured guest Tessa Bailey who will be signing copies of her latest book “Dream Girl Drama” as well as her previous book “Bellinger Sisters.”
The new book store will include a coffee shop - cafe, and have lots of seating for browsing and shopping for books.
Barnes & Noble would not disclose the "permitting issues" except to identify the Town as the source of the delay.
In a time where Bookstores are hard to find, this new Barnes & Noble should provide a great outlet for those who like to purchaser their books in person and not online.
