"Blue Bloods" Filming at Young's Farm, Planting Fields

The long-running New York City police drama, "Blue Bloods" is now filming locally on the north shore.

The series centers on the Reagans, a clan of Irish law enforcement members. The series stars Tom Selleck, Bridget Moynahan, and Donnie Wahlberg.

Filming for the upcoming season started this week. The show's production crew began filming last Monday at Young's Farm in Old Brookville, according to Tim Dooley, a manager at the farm. The production crew included about 200 people and brought 20 trucks to the Hegeman's Lane property.

Young's Farm is a 128-year-old working farm that features a farm stand that sells fresh produce. It also has a bakery with fresh pies as well as pot pies, quiches, and soups.

Dooley said that he had "no inside scoop" on the plot and that had not yet had any star sightings. But the star of the series, Tom Sellkeck, the former Magnum P.I. star, is expected to do some local filming in the next few weeks.

According to Dooley, staff at Youngs Farm was on standby to assist the production crew with the logistics of their operation.

Dooley added that "Blue Bloods" has filmed at Young's Farm before. Other shows like "Madame Secretary," HBO's "The Flight Attendant," and Peacock's "Dr. Death” have also filmed at Young's Farm.

Dooley also heard that the show will start filming soon at Planting Fields Arboretum in Upper Brookville.

The north shore is an active film venue. Notable local location shoots include the iconic film "Sabrina," which was filmed in Locust Valley, Glen Cove and Bayville; and several episodes of 2015's "American Odyssey," which were filmed on Centre Island.
