Cold Spring Harbor Students Raise Money For LA Wild-Fire Victims

By Ishan Shah
Some Cold Spring Harbor students are raising money and hosting events to help the victims of the devastating Los Angeles wildfires.
Sixth grade student Teddy Boskoff at Cold Spring Harbor West Side School wishes to assist those affected by the California Wildfires by playing the guitar – something that gives him peace – while collecting donations.
His brother, Spencer Boskoff was there supporting him with a sign advertising their initiative. They have already raised over $2,500 to help those who have lost their houses – or are unable to financially support themselves in the West Coast.
Teddy and Spencer - and their parents - began by donating boxes of clothes, blankets, and pillows for the victims.
But Teddy wanted to involve himself more. Both siblings set up outside of a NYC restaurant – and raised more than $400 in two hours.
The funding was sent to the Los Angeles Fire Department, and the Los Angeles Dream Center – a humanitarian center for California residents.
Their efforts have spread to other students in the Cold Spring Harbor schools, who are now working to raise funds for the LA families who lost their homes.
And if you are lucky, you might catch the boys playing on the street corner here in Huntington, trying to raise more money.
