Criminal Felons Spota, McPartland Seeking Federal Pardon

Two convicted criminal felons - former Suffolk District Attorney Thomas Spota (D-Brookhaven) and his former "Public Integrity" Chief ex-ADA Christopher McPartland - are seeking a federal pardon from President Trump, according to multiple sources.

The news of the two notorious criminal felons seeking a pardon has prompted Suffolk officials - including Suffolk Legislature Presiding Officer Anthony Piccirillo (R-Holbrook) - to denounce the attempt and demand that President Trump not pardon them.

"Thomas Spota and Christopher McPartland were entrusted with enforcing the law," stated Piccirillo. “Instead, they abused that trust, undermined confidence in our institutions, and damaged the public’s faith in government."

Spota and McPartland were convicted in federal Court after they coordinated with another convicted criminal felon - ex-Suffolk Police Chief James Burke - to cover-up the violent beating that Burke gave to a young handcuffed suspect, after the suspect stole a bag of "nasty porn" from Burke's car.

Burke - together with Spota and McPartland - then targeted honest Suffolk police officers who tried to cooperate with the FBI, who were investigating the violent beating and cover-up.

Several Suffolk police officers who perjured themselves to the FBI at the orders of Burke and Spota were later charged and pled guilty.

Burke was found guilty and sentenced to five years in prison.  When he was released, he was quickly re-arrested, this time for soliciting "blow-jobs" from men in a local children's playground and park. Burke recently reached a plea deal with the Suffolk DA, which would allow him to avoid more jail time on those charges.

Spota and Burke's close personal relationship goes back to the 1979 murder of 13-year-old John Pius, by a group of drugged-up teens in Smithtown. Spota was then an ADA and Burke was a teenage friend of the murderers.
