Driving Instructor Arrest in E Northport for Groping Student

A driving teacher has been arrested over allegations of inappropriately touching a female student in East Northport, according to Suffolk police.
Arrested is Arnold Stecker, age 72, of 163 Southern Boulevard, Hauppauge.
Stecker reportedly inappropriately touched a 20 year old woman while giving a driving instruction. The incident reportedly happened while stopped at Kenilworth Drive around 8:30PM on Tuesday, September 10.
According to the DA, Stecker invited the woman to the back seat where he attempted to grope her.
Police arrested Stecker at his Hauppauge home shortly after the incident.
After being held for the night in jail, Stecker was arraigned on Sunday, September 15th at First District Court in Central Islip.
Stecker is an employee at Fitzgerald Driving School. He was charged with Forceable Touching following an investigation from the Second Precinct. Stecker entered into a not plea at First District Court in Central Islip.
"I intend to represent Mr. Stecker vigorously against these allegations," stated Stecker's attorney, Power Law.
“He’s understandably nervous and he’s upset that someone would accuse him of such things,” added Law.
Detectives are encouraging anyone with any further information to come forward about the case, by calling the Second Precinct at 631-854-8252.
