Editorial: Finish the Job in Iran

This week, President Trump launched a new round of aerial bombardments of Iran’s missile and drone sites on the Straits of Hormuz.
Despite the “ceasefire” and first round peace agreement in the US-Iran Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), Iran constantly violated the agreement by firing missiles and drones at ships crossing the Straits.
And Iran kept changing the terms - including my claiming all of the Straits for itself (never mind that Oman and the United Arab Emirates are on the opposite shore) by sinking ships and charging “tolls” for ships sailing in international or Omani waters.
Iran even announced a call for Trump, and members of the US Cabinet to be assassinated.
So Trump really had no choice - short of actual surrender - other than to respond to force with force.
But unlike the quick ceasefire this past June, this time we need to finish the job.
Iran’s nuclear, missile and drone bases - and factories - must be flattened.
The Iranian nuclear bomb facilities should be bombed again - this time with no later opportunity to later dig out the enriched uranium.
And we should honor our call to the people of Iran - by helping them to achieve freedom. By seizing and giving the Iranian islands (Qeshm Island, Hormuz Islsnd, Kharg Island, etc) to a democratic transition government under the young Shah.
The Iranian people turned out last January by the millions to call for “freedom” and an end to the Islamist dictatorship. Over 40,000 were later rounded-up and executed by the Ayatollahs.
Let’s be serious this time - and bring freedom to Iran.
