Endorsement: Saritha Komatireddy for NY Attorney General

New York has an opportunity to elect a truly outstanding woman as Attorney General - Saritha Komatireddy.

Saritha is a tough, experienced prosecutor. She served as Chief of Staff to the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA); clerked for Justice Brett Kavanaugh; and been a federal prosecutor in Brooklyn handling major drug cartel and terrorism cases.

Saritha promises to re-orient the Attorney General's office to fight crime and protect people.  That is a refreshing change.

The incumbent, Letitia James (D-Brooklyn) is a national embarrassment. She ran for office pledging to use her office to target her political opponents - and did exactly that.

James' outrageous "fraud" suit against then private citizen Donald Trump and his family, named no "victims" of the alleged fraud - because there were none.  James gleefully bragged she was going to seize Trump's home, and - with a sycophantic Manhattan judge doing her bidding - obtained an unprecedented $500 million Judgment.

That was too much even for the all-Democrat Appeals Court (1st Department), which reversed the trial court, and threw it all out.

James' political "lawfare" is an attack on the Rule of Law. She violated her oath, and the law, committing a crime - a federal felony - by using her governmental office and spending millions in taxpayer money, to try to influence a federal election. That's illegal.

It's time to take party politics out of law enforcement - and actually fight crime.  The Leader endorses Saritha Komatireddy for NY Attorney General.
