Glen Cove celebrated its annual Holiday Festival last weekend in the Glen Cove Village Square. The festival featured holiday-themed activities for community members, live music from local community groups, and the highly-anticipated tree lighting.

The holiday festival began at 1:30 p.m. Community members were able to take free photos with Santa, enjoy hot chocolate, partake in stocking decorating, and go on free horse and carriage rides. There was also a festive holiday marketplace.

"This was a beautiful event," stated Glen Cove Mayor Pam Panzenbeck. "We wish all our residents a wonderful holiday season."

Throughout the festival, there was live music from a multitude of community groups, which included the GCHS Jazz Band, St. Dominic’s Choir and Dance Company, and Downtown Sounds Teen Idol Finalists.

The Christmas tree lighting commenced at 4:45 p.m.

The tree is a 28-year-old, 45-foot Colorado Blue Spruce, and was festively lit for community members to enjoy and relish in the holiday joy.
