Glen Cove Mayor, Red Cross Aid House Fire Victims

A raging house fire at 5 Beverly Road in Glen Cove brought out seven local fire departments - and both Mayor Pam Panzenbeck and Deputy Mayor Donna McNaughton were on the scene to assist the rescue efforts.
On February 25, 2026 at 10:50 AM, the Glen Cove Volunteer Fire Department got an emergency call of a residential house fire at 5 Beverly Road, a two story private dwelling.
There was one occupant inside the residence at the time of the fire, who was transported by Glen Cove EMS for smoke inhalation. There were no firefighter injuries.
Over 60 volunteer firefighters, including mutual aid partners, responded to the scene.
Responding were 4 Engines and 3 Ladders under the leadership of Chief Justin Valeo, along with Chiefs Sujeski and Grella.
The fire was brought under control at approximately 11:30 AM, and firefighters remained on scene for nearly two hours to secure the smoldering structure.
Fire Departments from Sea Cliff, Glenwood, Roslyn, East Norwich, and Jericho all provided backup and personnel to assist in dousing the raging fire in Glen Cove.
With the house gutted by fire, one resident has been displaced.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Nassau County Fire Marshal’s Office.
“Our members, along with our mutual aid departments, responded quickly and worked aggressively to bring this fire under control," stated Glen Cove Fire Chief Justin Valeo. "Their training, teamwork, and commitment to protecting Glen Cove were on full display. I am extremely proud of every member who answered the call.”
Mayor Pam Panzenbeck and Deputy Mayor Donna McNaughton were present on scene to assist with coordination of support services, including Red Cross assistance.
