Glen Cove Police to honor Mayor Pam Panzenbeck at "Night Out" Street Fair

By Chris O'Neill

The Glen Cove Police Department announced they will be honoring Mayor Pam Panzenbeck at Glen Cove's annual "National Night Out" street fair on Tuesday August 6th between 6PM and 8PM in downtown Glen Cove.

"Glen Cove prides itself on being a 'Community United Against Crime'" according to a police statement, and the police are acting as the host organization for the August 6th street fair.

The event will take place in downtown Glen Cove on Bridge Street in front of the Glen Cove Police Department, and Police Chief William Whitton has invited all residents to participate in this fun and educational event to support the safety of our community.

“National Night Out” is an outstanding program that provides residents with an opportunity to build relationships with Glen Cove’s police officers, and learn about the many programs and services offered by the city and community groups.

The Glen Cove Police Department and Police Benevolent Association (PBA) support each year to build the critical relationship of our police officers with the Glen Cove community. Safety and neighborhood unity all stem from the strength of the relationship between the police department and the community they serve and protect.

The event is being co-hosted by the City of Glen Cove, Glen Cove Police Department, PBA, Youth Bureau, Volunteer Fire Department, EMS, The Housing Authority, the Downtown B.I.D., and local businesses and organizations.

"National Night Out is an outstanding way to increase awareness against crime, encourage drug prevention, support local anti-crime efforts and further solidify the already strong ties between the Glen Cove community and its hardworking Police Department," stated the Mayor's office.
