GOP Calls on Santos to Resign
By Chris O'Neill
The Nassau Republican Party held a press conference on Wednesday, demanding that freshman congressman George Santos resign.
"He has disgraced the House of Representatives, and we do not consider him one of our congresspeople,” stated Cairo. "Today, on behalf of the Nassau County Republican Committee, I am calling for his immediate resignation."
Santos has been exposed as a pathological liar - who fabricated nearly everything about himself and his background, and is a wanted criminal in Brazil. Santos' frauds was a story broken by the North Shore Leader in September, and then amplified by the New York Times in December.
Cairo also stated that Santos was unwelcome at any Nassau Republican event, and would be ejected, if he showed up.
Suffolk GOP Chair Jesse Garcia and NYS GOP Chair, Congressman Nick Langworthy quickly joined Cairo in calling for Santos' resignation.
Santos tweeted in reply that he "will NOT resign."
