In the wake of the Republican primary elections in Huntington, the Democratic candidate will be Huntington attorney Cooper Macco, and the Republican candidate will be attorney and incumbent Supervisor Edmund Smyth.

Smyth bested Republican Councilwoman Brooke Lupinacci in the June 24th Republican primary, after a hard-fought campaign that focused on issues of apartment overdevelopment and municipal corruption in Huntington.

The Democratic candidates for Town Board will be Jen Hebert and Stephen Anastasia.

Hebert is the Director of the St. John's Nursery School in Huntington Village and is a former Member of the Huntington School Board. Anastasia is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and works as a venture capital and technology attorney.

The Republican candidates for Huntington Town Board will be Dr. David Bennardo and Greg Grizopoulos.

Bennardo is an incumbent town council member, who retired in 2021 as Superintendent of the South Huntington School District. Grizopoulos is a practicing attorney in Mineola, and serves as the Chairman of the Huntington Conservative Party.

Over $1 million was spent in the Republican primary - mostly from the construction and building development groups - and their political action committees - who supported Smyth in the primary election.
