Jericho Home Burglary: $7K in Jewelry Stolen

A brazen nighttime home burglary in Jericho cost a homeowner over $10,000 in losses, including $7,000 in jewelry and a Louis Vuitton handbag.

The burglary occurred last Friday night at 10:45 PM on Mellow Lane in Jericho.

The burglars broke into the home after smashing through a sliding glass door in the back of the house.  The house backs up onto the Jackson Elementary School and a public park.

Nassau police detectives believe that the burglars came through the back of the property through the park.  

“A couple of months before, we had another burglary down on the other side," stated Eyi Chen, a neighbor. "This neighborhood is pretty good though. We have police sometimes patrolling around.”
