Judge Ute Lally Honored for "40 Years on the Bench"

Supreme Court Judge Ute Wolff Lally of Oyster Bay was recently honored at the "Women in the Law" Ceremony held at the Nassau Supreme Courthouse in Mineola.
Judge Lally was appointed to the Nassau County District Court bench in 1985 by then County Executive Francis Purcell. She was elected to a full term the next year, and was elevated to the Supreme Court in 1995.

Lally arrived in the United States in 1950 as a penniless child refugee from post WW2 Germany. She worked her way through college and law school, before settling on Long Island to raise her family.
Chief Appellate Division Judge Joseph Zayas and Nassau Administrative Judge Vito DeStefano presented Judge Lally with a bouquet of flowers and plaque to commemorate her 40 years on the bench, serving the people and Court system of the State of New York.
Lally is currently serving as a "Senior Judge - JHO" with chambers in the 10th Judicial District (Nassau and Suffolk counties).
