Suffolk police arrested Levar Butts, age 27, for running an illegal Fentanyl drug trafficking operation in Huntington.
Butts was once a star quarterback for the Huntington Blue Devils high school football team, during the 2014 season.
He was arrested by Suffolk Police at his home in Huntington Station, and was found in possession of both a commercial quantity of the illegal drug Fentanyl and an illegal loaded handgun.
The police had tracked Butts' drug dealing operation, and secured Warrants to raid his home and his remote drug dealing locations.
Butts was arrested and charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon: loaded firearm, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fourth-degree criminal possession of narcotic drugs, and second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia.
He was arraigned on September 29th - and under the new New York "no-bail" laws - was immediately released.
