A Locust Valley woman was arrested after biting and assaulting a police officer.  Arrested is Tiara Gooden, age 34, for assault on a police officer.

Police responded to a 911 call regarding a dispute between neighbors around 6:21 PM on Monday, December 9th.

The call, which came from a 21 year old neighbor, claimed that Gooden got into an aggressive confrontation with her neighbors. The dispute reportedly involved a fight regarding the mail at their home. During this time, Gooden reportedly responded by slamming her neighbor’s door and proceeding to damage the lock.

Following her arrest, Gooden requested medical attention and was brought to a local hospital.

That is when she became aggressive - as soon as the nurse began to treat her - yelling and flailing and biting a police officer who was standing nearby.

Gooden also scratched the hand of the nurse who was treating her.

According to reports from authorities, both the nurse and the police officer suffered cuts and severe pain the injuries that they sustained.

Police charged Gooden with two counts of assault and criminal mischief.

Both the police officer and the nurse are expected to make a full recovery from their injuries.
