Mazi Pilip was elected two years ago in an upset - and has emerged as a star in the Nassau Legislature.
Pilip was born in Ethiopia - a Falasha Jew - who was airlifted as a young girl out of the Ethiopian Civil War to then grow-up in Israel, serve in the Israeli Defense Forces, and later settle with her physician-husband in Great Neck.
Representing Great Neck and Manhasset, Pilip has fought successfully to add new park lands for Great Neck; rallied and supported local residents whose families were impacted by bthe Hamas terror attacks in Israel; worked with local and Nassau law enforcement to keep crime out of her district; and successfully fought against Governor Hochul's plan to jam mass high-density housing into our neighborhoods.
The Leader endorses Mazi Melesa Pilip for Nassau Legislature.
