Nassau Comptroller Elaine Phillips Honors "Freezin' for a Reason" Leader Erin Lipinsky

Erin Lipinsky, a driving force behind the "Freezin' for a Reason Polar Plunge" was honored by Nassau County Comptroller Elaine Phillips.

 

In a ceremony held last week, Phillips honored Great Neck resident Lipinsky for his outstanding fundraising as the leading individual contributor to the Freezin’ for a Reason Polar Plunge.

 

The "Freezin' for a Reason" polar plunge was held on March 7th to benefit the Special Olympics of New York.

 

“Erin’s unwavering passion and generosity over more than two decades exemplify what it means to give back,” stated Phillips. “His dedication to the Special Olympics New York Polar Plunge highlights his commitment to supporting athletes and creating opportunities for individuals of all abilities."

 

Phillips was joined by the Town of North Hempstead's Supervisor Jennifer DeSena; Receiver of Taxes Mary Jo Collins, Department Chief Gallo, and Chief Campbell.


Erin Lipinsky is a leading individual contributor and fundraiser for the Special Olympics through the Freezin’ for a Reason Polar Plunge.


Over the past 20 years, Lipinsky has raised some $200,000 for the Special Olympics.


He raised more than $36,000 this year alone, and has consistently been recognized as the Statewide Top Fundraiser.


Lipinsky is an active member of the Great Neck Alert Fire Company and plays on the Great Neck Spirits Basketball Team for Special Olympics NY, continuing to raise awareness and make a lasting impact in the community.


"Erin's leadership, heart, and commitment are an inspiration to everyone,” added Phillips.
