New Design For Gold Coast Library

by Nolan Cleary

A newly proposed design update to the Gold Coast Public Library project is finally moving full steam ahead. In December, residents approved a proposal to allocate 2.62 acres of land on Glen Head Road, in Glen Head, for the purpose of constructing a new library.

Two virtual events, hosted on February 27 and March 2, presented the new design to the public. Participants received the chance to present their ideas and criticism at the event. Several changes to the design were suggested during the virtual meeting. Architect Pansy Cheng of H2M Architects was a prime mover behind re-designing the library

"We thank the community for their continued support and for participating in these discussions surrounding the design of our new library," said library Board of Trustees President Nancy Benchimol.

“We appreciate our patrons taking the time to learn about the new library design and to share their thoughts with us," added Library Director Mike Morea
