OBay Opens Two New Daily Baby Formula Donation Sites

by Priya Persaud

The national shortage of baby formula has been called "a crisis" by President Joe Biden (D), but local leaders in Oyster Bay refuse to stop trying to help desperate parents find food for their babies.

After the major success of local weekly collection drives for baby formula, the Town of Oyster Bay has opened two new daily baby formula donation centers for families in need.

“The nationwide baby formula shortage is causing a crisis for many families throughout Long Island," stated Councilman Steve Labriola. "We all know that once little ones move onto food, families are often left with extra formula in their pantries. We ask that you open your hearts and cupboards by donating unexpired, unused formula for families facing shortages and empty store shelves.”

The Town of Oyster Bay encourages residents to donate their unexpired, unused baby formula at two new locations: The Town Hall North, located at 54 Audrey Ave. in Oyster Bay, and the Town Hall South, located at 977 Hicksville Rd in Massapequa.

The two collection sites will be open daily, Monday through Friday, from 9:00AM to 4:45PM, and will stay open until July 15th, 2022, or later date if extended by the Board or Supervisor Joe Saladino..

The Town states that all donations will greatly aid families who are grappling with finding baby formula amid a shortage nationwide
