Op-Ed: America Is Still Committing National Suicide

In a recent column, I spoke a great deal about our nation’s glorious 250-year history and questioned whether we could exist in our present form for even another 25 years. 

There are nefarious actors at play actually seeking to do away with this amazing American republic. And the scary part is that the American people are allowing it to happen from within via our complacency, and at times, our compliance in facilitating a national suicide.

There is a very dangerous alliance that has emerged among various forces that have one thing in common — they hate America, Israel, and western civilization, and wish to destroy them. This includes a re-emerging Marxist movement, a virulent anti-American wave of immigrants from areas hostile to this country, including China, the Middle East, and Somalia, to name a few.

It has resulted in the following:

1) An America with no borders

It was quite clear that the Biden administration and the leaders of the Democratic Party opened the border by design. The succeeding administration closed the border, but the 10-20 million illegal crossers who remain here are propped up with money given to them and their lawyers, via their allies in the Democratic Party (who collected those funds from the taxpayer when they’re in power) and various extremist illegal immigration lobbyists and non-governmental organizations (NGOs).

They combined forces with a fiercely biased legacy media that paints the illegal immigrant as the victim and law enforcement as the inhumane bad guys. Any effort by the present administration to deport even hardened criminals runs into roadblocks that are put in place by Democratic officials on the local, state and federal levels and their allies in the judiciary.

We have already seen how changing demographics are altering U.S. policy. This is why the Democratic Party has now turned away from a liberal, free, western society, such as Israel, that supports gay and women’s rights and a free press, to an intolerant, repressive theocracy in the Islamic areas surrounding the Jewish state.

2) Coddling Communist China

President Bill Clinton thought that being nice to China and bringing them into the World Trade Organization would not only help the U.S. economy, but would also make the Chinese Communist Party more democratic. 

How did that work out? 

Those investing in the stock market made off very well, but those in the heartland got decimated and China became an economic and military rival. Worst yet, they have an undeclared military and economic war in play against the United States, which we refused to recognize.

Sometimes we talked tough, but the current administration has allowed 600,000 Chinese students to continue to flood our universities, knowing darn well many of them are spies, and their allegiance is to the CCP. We know that their families at home will be threatened if they don’t comply.

And while we have placed limits on TikTok, a Chinese company that still has a large stake in this information source that is poisoning the youth of our nation with anti-American propaganda, we continue to expand visas, bringing in foreigners to take our high-skilled jobs.

Granted, there is often a need for specialization, but don’t buy the claim that there aren’t Americans available to do the job. They would do the work if we stopped paying them to just stay home and collect a check while they watch TV, claiming bogus disability or unemployment claims. Or if we paid them the higher wage they would have received, had we not undercut these wages with lower-paid foreigners.

3) Indoctrinating our children to hate their country

We always knew that our universities were hotbeds for far-left radicalism, including Marxism and communism. The overwhelming majority of professors declare themselves as being Democrats and/or liberal in their outlook and their donations follow that pattern. 

Our universities are getting bought off by China and dubious countries such as Qatar and Saudi Arabia, who shower them with millions of dollars in return for Middle Eastern Studies professors being put in place to instruct our impressionable young college students that America is a no- good, racist, colonialist sewer that should be overthrown. 

But now we’re seeing this type of indoctrination enter into our K-12 schools. The Woke Revolution that came about in the Biden administration has empowered Marxist-dominated teachers unions to concentrate more on pronouns, trans issues and sexual orientation than the basics of learning reading and math.

A bogus curriculum called the 1619 Project, which claims America was founded, not for religious and  political freedom, but to create a slave colony, is now being taught as fact in 4,000 schools.

4) Dividing Americans by Race

The communists around the world who wanted to destroy America have always known that the way to accomplish their goal is not through military force, but rather from within America itself. 

One of their chief objectives has, and continues to be, to pit one American against another based upon class and race.

They helped stoke the racial riots of the 1960s and now have been propping up critical race theory in our universities that divide America into two categories: those who exploit and those who are exploited.

The "exploiters" are white Christian males and the "exploited" are everyone else — women, minorities, gays, etc.

For a while in the early part of the 21st century, it looked like we were becoming a post-racial America, a true American melting pot. People weren’t obsessed with race by injecting it into every political issue, as happens today.

We had come so far that America not only elected a Black president with large support from the White community, but actually re-elected him as well.

And as recently as 2006, the polls showed that the average American thought race relations were actually very good. Ironically, Obama, rather than uniting us, used identity  politics to help build his winning coalition. By the end of Obama’s term, race relations in America plummeted. Then, Biden‘s Woke agenda continued the division by falsely claiming that white supremacy was the greatest threat to national security. Everything became black versus white, gay versus straight, Christian and Jew versus Muslim. 

5) Teaching that socialism is better than free markets

Meanwhile, our kids are being indoctrinated by leftists proclaiming that capitalism is racist and cruel, while socialism is the answer to all their problems. Unfortunately, our children are never even taught about the benefits of free markets. That is how a person with nothing has the freedom to open a business and see it grow exponentially.

Or how compounding interest works, so that if you place a little bit of money in your early years in the stock market, you’ll have an amazing amount of money in that account 20 years later.

Or how, with socialism, there is a finite pie with a limited amount to go around to everyone, while in a free market, the pie is always growing. So even though there’s not overall equality, those on the lower end are still living better than those living in a socialist country, such as Cuba, Venezuela, or North Korea, with less income disparity.

They find sympathetic friends in the Democratic Party, who seek their alliance to help grow a leftist voting base. And then there are the hardcore, left-wing judges who have been appointed in the 12 years of the Obama/Biden era who are ideologically tuned in to this movement.

We also failed to explain the difference between Scandinavian-type democracy and the type of socialism that Marxists such as Zohran Mamdani, Senate candidate Abdul El Sayed, or influencer Hasan Piker are promoting. They want to control the means of production and remove private ownership in housing and business.

While some of these socialists have lost their electoral bids, the majority of them are winning. More importantly, they’re winning the hearts and minds of our younger, naïve generation. 

If we want to survive, we have to do a better job in our education system to preach the wonders of this nation. It was indeed founded on liberty, despite its many sins, including slavery and Jim Crow. We must also teach that capitalism and free markets have freed 1 billion people from poverty over the last two decades.

So start teaching our kids how lucky they are to live here, while explaining to them how dreary it is to live in these other nations they seek to emulate.

Even the European nations they hold up as models have waits of six months to get an MRI, with no choice in your doctor, while providing you a tiny cubicle in which to live with your family of five, and provide zero innovation to help make the world a better place.

And let’s stop importing people who hate us and dividing us by race and class, and let’s stop engaging in suicide by teaching our youth that this great nation is not worth fighting for.
