Op-Ed: Why Does New York Still Support Child Mutilations?

Good for Mt. Sinai Hospital for agreeing to settle with the federal government and announcing that they will no longer be providing procedures that sterilize children by removing their sexual organs.

This barbaric process had become quite the norm in the woke world we had to live through just a short time ago.

The crazies on the left labeled the removal of these organs and the sterilization of our children, not as sex change or sterilization procedures, but rather with the more "cozy" label of being “gender affirming care.”

The problem is, we don’t allow minors to go into a tanning salon without approval from their parents. We don’t allow them to drive or to drink alcohol. It’s because we don’t believe that children are mature enough at that point to make these important, possibly life-altering, decisions.

Yet, the woke "gender-affirming" monsters will manipulate and encourage children into pronouncing that they are now a different sex, and that their sex organs can be surgically removed. 

This was all under the guise of helping to make these struggling young people happier, and to prevent potential suicides.

That was the political line that healthcare professionals were feeding to parents. It wasn’t mentioned how much money that many of these healthcare professionals were making by promoting these operations. 

Studies have surfaced over the last several years confirming that these operations do NOT cure the underlying psychiatric problems that these young people have. We’ve seen more and more of these patients having regretted their decisions and who are now desperately seeking to re-transition to their biological sex.

Equally disturbing is how the media is couching the issue. When there was a change of administrations in 2025, the incoming officials stopped this child mutilation in its tracks.

That was welcome news.

Once the individuals become of age, they can decide to do whatever they want with their bodies, but to allow these immature children make these life-altering decisions (which may affect their ability to have children) is a bridge too far. 

Yet the media - as in a recent Newsday article on the subject - highlights one left-wing advocate after another, making it sound like those stopping the child-mutilation procedures are the bad guys. 

No reference is made to the studies showing the ineffectiveness of these surgeries in helping the patients with their underlying conditions.

And now we have the woke Attorney General in New York, Letitia James, doing the bidding for the sexual mutilation industry. The feds have tried to stop it and the hospital agreed, but James is suing, claiming that they are violating the rights of the children.

Would she bring a suit to stop a local government from preventing children from buying alcohol, cigarettes or marijuana, because it’s a violation of their rights?

We’ve been able to battle back against a large segment of Woke Part One, which AOC herself — one of the woke founders — described as "crazy."

But based on the actions of Attorney General James - and the ongoing one-sided media coverage - it appears we still have a long way to go.
