PBA Endorses Pironi for Nassau Leg

by Niall Fitzgerald
"Paolo Pironi is a volunteer fireman - a First Responder just like we are - and that is why we are proud to endorse Paolo Pironi for the Nassau County Legislature," stated Steven Maritas, the head of the Law Enforcement Officers PBA, one of the largest law enforcement and security unions in the United States.
"Paolo Pironi knows, like we do, that when you get the call, and rush out to help people, you put your life and safety on the line for the public." added Maritas.
Pironi, age 34, is the Republican nominee for the Nassau Legislature in the north shore 18th district, that includes Oyster Bay, Locust Valley, Bayville, Syosset and the Brookvilles. He has served as a volunteer firefighter with the Jericho Fire Department for twelve years, and gone out on over 3,450 fire alarm calls. Pironi is currently a lieutenant in the volunteer Fire Department.
"I am humbled by this endorsement from law enforcement, and want to thank each of your 10,000 police and law enforcement members for your recognition and trust," stated Pironi. "We all work together to protect the public, and that is the perspective that I will bring to local government."
Pironi is leading in the race against two-term Democrat Joshua Lafazan, according to several recent polls.
Pironi, a native of Brookville and Oyster Bay, just married his high school sweetheart, Megan Stewart of Oyster Bay, over the summer. He works for his local family business, building single family homes.
