Police Back Meagan McCarty for Nassau Leg
by Niall Fitzgerald
This past Friday, Meagan McCarty, the Republican nominee for the Post Washington-Roslyn-Sea Cliff-Glen Cove seat in the Nassau Legislature received the endorsement of the influential NYPD Sargeant's Benevolent Association ("SBA")
"We fully support Meagan McCarty in this campaign," stated SBA President Ed Mullins, himself a resident of Port Washington. "It is good to see Meagan interested in the preservation of the American Dream."
"Nassau County deserves better," added McCarty. "Soaring taxes and a 39% increase in gun violence means that things in Nassau are going in the wrong direction."
McCarty related an recent experience that she suffered visiting New York City: "I was attacked outside Penn Station. A mob surrounded me and tried to rob me. If not for the assistance of a courageous local business owner - who took me in and helped me - I would have been beaten and perhaps killed."
McCarty lives in Port Washington with her husband Brian McCarty, a Port Washington Police officer, and their two lovely children, Alice and Harry.
"I will always back the men and women in blue, who fight for our safety," noted McCarty. "And I will stand against all efforts to de-fund our police.".
