Oyster Bay native and World Champion Wrestler Maxwell Jacob Friedman “MJF” was awarded the “Key to the Town” last Monday by Oyster Bay Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino and members of the Town Board.
The Town also proclaimed April 3, 2023 as “Maxwell Jacob Friedman Day” in the Town of Oyster Bay. Friedman was particularly honored for his charitable endeavors.
“We are proud to recognize All Elite Wrestling Champion Maxwell Jacob Friedman for his charitable efforts to combat anti-Semitism and end Jew-hate around the world,” stated Saladino. “MJF has demonstrated unwavering determination, skill and showmanship in becoming the AEW Champion, where his prowess in the ring, and his undeniable charisma, have made him a professional wrestling icon and one of the biggest box office draws in the sport.”
MJF is a Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK High School graduate, and currently resides in Glen Cove. He is proud of his hometown roots in the Town of Oyster Bay, and regularly speaks against anti-Semitism.
“We are so proud of him and the charitable work he does outside the ring,” added Saladino. “Go get’em Champ!”
His local fans were able to see Freidman wrestle in person, when he was in the Wrestling Ring last Wednesday as the AEW held it Dynamite television program at the UBS arena in Elmont, New York. It was the first New York area AEW Wresting event of 2023.
