Town Supervisors Protest Hochul “Housing Plan”

Last week, local fire chiefs and water commissioners joined North Hempstead Town Supervisor Jennifer DeSena, Hempstead Supervisor Don Clavin, and Oyster Bay Supervisor Joe Saladino, to protest against NY Governor Kathy Hochul’s ill-conceived mass “Housing Plan,” that would overturn local and environmental rules to force-construct 800,000 units of new tract housing.

Joining the Supervisors were Albertson Water Commissioner Ed Scott, Oyster Bay Receiver of Taxes Jeff Pravato, and Oyster Bay Town Clerk Rich LaMarca.

The fire commissioners and water commissioners stated that the construction of mass tract housing will overwhelm the local sewer and water systems – and make communities more dangerous.
