Woodbury Fire Displaces Two Dozen Families

A fire at a Woodbury apartment complex forced over two dozen families out of their homes. The fire, which happened on Monday, November 1st, led to a response from over a dozen fire departments from around the Woodbury area.


The fire occurred at the Eagle Rock apartment complex at Pond Road. The apartments are located adjacent to the Oyster Bay Golf Course and the Fox Hollow Inn, just off Jericho Turnpike in Woodbury.


The fire reportedly started around 8 PM according to officials. Flames engulfed both floors of the apartment, as well as the windows and front door when firefighters arrived at the scene.


Other buildings in the area took damage as well. Residents at the apartment complex were able to be evacuated safely, as no one sustained any injuries from the flames.


Fire departments in Syosset, Plainview, Hicksville, Melville, Locust Valley, Cold Spring Harbor, Huntington Manor, East Norwich, Bethpage, Westbury, and Oyster Bay all responded to the fire.
